November 11 – 15, 2013

For NOLA Transit Week 2013, Ride New Orleans will shine a spotlight on transit and raise awareness about the role that transit plays in strengthening our regional economy and ensuring that all New Orleanians have access to opportunity.

Monday, November 11th – Transit Week Kick-off Party

Help us kick Transit Week 2013 off in style at our kick-off party.  Transit-themed drinks will be on tap and drink proceeds support our continued work.

When:  Monday, November 11th – 5pm to 8pm

Where:  Bellocq – 936 St. Charles Avenue on Lee Circle

Travel:  Easy access from the St. Charles streetcar and #11 Magazine Street bus

Why:  It’s Transit Week!

There’s no denying that 2013 was such a trying year for transit. The LA Swift link to Baton Rouge was cut from service and our beloved and much needed ferries barely survived State funding cuts.

The outpouring of support for the LA Swift and ferries that came with each of these transit funding fights reflects the growing prominence of transit-related issues in the New Orleans region.

Take part in Transit Week 2013 by:

  1. Leaving your car or bike behind and trying a transit commute. Already riding? Keep at it!
  2. Shining your own spotlight on transit by riding the bus, streetcar or ferry and using the hashtag #TransitWeek to share your photos and experience on Twitter, Instagram and other social channels. Tag us as well @RideNewOrleans and three lucky winners will receive 31-day jazzy passes.
  3. Staying tuned for media stories on important transit issues and opportunities for our region!
